Wenatchee Ave "Steetscape"
This project was funded by a partnership of the City of Wenatchee and the Wenatchee Downtown Association. The project goal was to reduce traffic noise and improve the pedestrian and aesthetic characteristics for Wenatchee’s historic downtown core area. Munson Engineers’ portion of the work was to design the grinding and overlay of the asphalt surfacing to improve the profile and cross section for better surface driving and drainage characteristics. MEI was also responsible for designing storm sewer replacement, sanitary sewer separation and intersection layout. This project was recipient of the APWA first place award for the best city asphalt paving project in the State of Washington for the year 1989.
Crawford Street
This arterial improvement was a public-private project for the purposes of widening the street to arterial standards and creating a roadbed to support heavily laden gold ore trucks. The 5000 lineal foot project included surveying the site, design and reconstruction of the headwaters for Wenatchee’s major irrigation canal, street widening, curbs, gutter, sidewalks, storm drains, sewer extensions, retaining walls and irrigation main relocations. A substantial portion of a large diameter steel water main had to be lowered while remaining constantly in service. A significant section of this project was built over a decomposing former garbage dump that offered virtually no structural support for the roadway. Munson Engineers provided a resident inspector for the duration of the project.

Sunnyslope Interchange Stage 2
Munson Engineers acted as the engineering and surveying subcontractor on this WSDOT project. Part of this job included structural design of sheet pile walls to enable traffic to use SR 285 continuously into and out of Wenatchee while each half of the over crossing was under construction. Munson provided survey control for the over crossing, and was on the bubble of the critical path for many months. The project was completed ahead of schedule.
